Today’s Focusing Question
As you consider your failures, what words run through your mind?
- ‘You’re disgusting.’
- ‘You’re weak.’
- ‘You’ll never be loved for being you. No one really wants you.’
God speaks these words to the heart in the wake of failure
Isaiah 40:2
- Hard Service is completed
- Sin has been paid for
- Double has been received for all her sins.
The messages that you hear, in your mind:
- ‘No one loves you.’
- ‘You’re a disgrace.’
And all the others…
That’s not God’s voice.
What does he have for you?
- Grace
- Comfort
He welcomes your confession and desires puts an arm on your shoulder to walk forward together.
While our failures are obvious to us…
and we might possibly hear any number of voices…
our comforter wants to be the loudest voice in our ears.
